Commission packet for July 15, 2014

The commission agenda features one action item: a public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit by the Vineyard Church. The information is available in the town's agenda center, and a copy is also available on Drive.  [This meeting was cancelled due to lack of a quorum.  The public hearing has been tentatively rescheduled to August 5, 2014.] [Edited on August 4, 2014:  The August 5 meeting was also cancelled due to lack of a quorum; the town council is scheduled to hear the matter on August 20, 2014.]

ToE Resolutions 2014-13 & 2014-14

I was able to obtain copies of the resolutions from the town clerk yesterday, and have made them available on Drive. Resolution 2014-13 regarding a ban on the display sale and use of fireworks lasting for thirty days and beginning on July 2, 2014 was approved by the town council on that date. 

After most of the public left the meeting, the council also passed Resolution 2014-14 declaring its intent to address what the resolution describes as "a shortage of high quality, high performance rental and attached housing in the region." Presumably, this means that there will be yet another round of proposed changes to the zoning ordinance designed to address the situation. 

Fireworks in Edgewood?

For those who are looking for information on the use of fireworks in Edgewood, I can point you to today's front page story in The Independent which gives some details about the resolution (2014-13) on use of fireworks which is on the town council agenda for tonight's meeting.

You can also call the town office at 505-286-4518 for more information. This afternoon, I left a message with the town clerk asking that someone post the relevant information on the town website. The information may be there, but I have not found it.
